Have you encountered dark lines around baseboards and under doorways on your light-colored carpet? The term for this is filtration soiling. This soiling occurs when air passes between the carpet fibers when attempting to move between the crack under a closed door and under the baseboards. The soiling is microscopic and stored in the carpet, as the air passes through. This is usually noticed over a time, when buildup has occurred.Removal of filtration soiling is challenging because the fine soil particles are deposited deep into the carpet pile and even at times penetrate the carpet backing. It cannot always be removed. Sometimes results can be achieved with time and effort and special products, but not always. Make sure to regularly vacuum and wipe the carpet edges to help prevent this type of soiling. The tack strip on the edge of the carpet can nick your fingers so be careful!

To clean carpets, A Clean Pro uses the deepest cleaning on the market, our “truck-mounted hot water extraction” method and follows a full 12-Step cleaning process.6) How long does the carpet take to dry?
6 to 12 hours is the typical drying time. In some situations our dry time can be as little an 1 hour. Your carpet will only be damp to the touch when we are done with the cleaning. Conditions such as weather, room temperature, and airflow will impact the dry time as well.7) I’ve heard it’s best to put off having your carpet cleaned as long as possible, is this true?
No. Professional carpet cleaning is recommended at least once per year by all of the major carpet manufacturers. Your carpet fibers can be broken down and damaged from soil buildup and foot traffic. The carpet will need cleaning more often if there is heavier traffic in your home.8) Should I have my carpet dry cleaned or steam cleaned?
All of the major carpet manufacturers recommend truck mounted hot water extraction as their preferred method of cleaning. Hot-water extraction removes more soil and spots than dry cleaning methods when done properly by a certified and trained technician and also helps to extend the life of your carpet. We do offer a Very Low Moisture cleaning for commercial cleanings.9) Does your cleaning process soak the backing of the carpet?
No, the backing of your carpet will not be wet. We clean thoroughly all of the carpet fibers in your carpet. When we are done cleaning with our powerful truck-mounted equipment, your carpet is thoroughly rinsed and will be just damp.10) Can you get the pet odor out of my carpet?
A Clean Pro is aware that pet odor is a typical issue many experience and we are dedicated to help you deal with your pet issues and to find the best solution for you.Pet urine can reach deeper in the carpet than it you may realize. It easily soaks through the backing of the carpet into the padding underneath. In more severe cases the urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the padding as well. When this occurs the problem then becomes multi-layered.
The problem of urine can become worse when bacteria begins to grow. This can worsen the odor and can result in a permanent color loss to the fibers.
All of the affected layers of the carpet must be neutralized to solve the problem completely. If the urine is limited to just the fibers of the carpet then a regular cleaning should cut down the odor. In more serious situations, urine neutralizer can be applied.
In serious situations we may need to replace the carpet padding and treat the underside of the carpet and sub-floor. This is not a guarantee that the odor will be completely removed but it is the best option available.
When you leave pet urine in the carpet fibers and do not treat it over time it can affect other porous materials in your home such as upholstered furniture, sheet rock, draperies , base-boards, even the concrete foundation.
